System requirements

Mojo currently installs on macOS and Linux. Windows support is through a Linux environment rather than a native toolchain.

Essentials

  • Apple silicon and 64-bit x86 are the desktop targets.
  • A current Python 3 install is required because Mojo ships through Python and Conda tooling.
  • GPU kernels need a supported vendor stack. CPU-only programs do not.
  • The VS Code extension is optional and adds highlighting, completion, and debugging.
  • Nightly builds can require a newer package channel than the stable release.

If mojo is not found, the environment that installed it is not the environment on your PATH.
